Maintenance Material Planner

Master Packaging Inc. the leader of corrugate and folding carton packaging located in Borden, Prince Edward Island is currently seeking a self-motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a Maintenance Material Planner.

Responsibilities:  As a member of a highly energetic and goal oriented team, and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be mainly responsible for the following:

  • Receive, unpack and sort incoming parts, supplies and materials
  • Identify, label and catalogue items received
  • Process incoming requisitions
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish parts and supplies
  • Track work order parts list (assist in preparation of Bill of Material)
  • Maintain records on inventory control system
  • Sourcing out parts for best efficiency of plant wide manufacturing operations (freight, lead time, cost, quality)
  • Investigate cost variance
  • Develop and maintain sustainable relationship with suppliers.
  • Maintain housekeeping of maintenance store
  • Follow up with vendors and track their performances to ensure timely delivery
  • Evaluation of suppliers on the basis of price, quality, service support, availability, reliability, and selection
  • Identify operational problems and deficiencies, and recommend solutions to appropriate management levels
  • Perform inventory audit’s in the form of cycle count and full count
  • Assist in capital project procurements aspects
  • Assist in procurement of production bulk supplies

Requirements and Skills:

  • Post secondary education in resource planning system, inventory, and purchasing considered strong assets;
  • Strong inventory management skills;
  • Familiar with Kanban process, safety stocks and some level of project management considered an asset;
  • Some repair technical background;
  • Good communication, organizational and negotiation skills;
  • Proficient in computing skills
