Technical Consultant

The Technical Consultant provides consulting services to new and existing clients using Cogsdale applications. The Technical Consultant is a member of our dynamic Professional Services team, focused on the technical aspects of software implementation projects. The successful candidate will work directly with clients and is expected to exercise sound judgment within defined best practices, and to always engage clients with the highest levels of professionalism and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Install enterprise software solution according to the requirements
  • Discuss and recommend hardware and network configurations with clients including implications of Citrix, Terminal Services, Virtual Machines, and disaster recovery plans
  • Train clients on technical aspects of the system during the implementation including database maintenance procedures, software updates, user creation and associated security, and other aspects of system support
  • Perform system upgrades with clients including test upgrades, testing assistance, and post upgrade support
  • Troubleshoot performance, security, system errors and other related issues encountered during implementation
  • Work with clients on implementation of technical products including web and peripheral applications
  • Develop process documentation, procedure checklists, and contribute to continuous improvement of best practices

Skills and Experience:

  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), A+ Certified Technician (A+)
  • Experience with all aspects of Microsoft technology including SQL server, active directory, Terminal Services, Live Meeting, and MS Office
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Server, Business Portal and CRM considered an asset but not required
  • Experience with deployment of business critical, high availability systems in a mixed hardware environment
  • Familiar with database administration, such as backups and security administration
  • Experience in a customer facing role performing technical work
  • Self directed and-able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills on all levels
