Clinic Manager

The Polyclinic Professional Centre has been a leader in quality health care services on PEI since 1925. The Polyclinic is currently searching for a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Clinic Manager in one of the province's most dynamic and energetic specialist clinics. The position is part-time and flexible for the right candidate; benefits include pension, health and competitive salary.

Reporting directly to the Polyclinic Business Manager, the Clinic Manager plays as an integral role in the operational and administrative function of the specialized clinic within the Polyclinic entity.

Clinic Manager responsibilities include managing, planning and coordinating the daily operations of the clinic. Specifically, this involves designing and managing staffing schedules, monitoring and measuring staff performance, recommending merit increases or disciplinary action, chairing staff meetings, maintaining strict confidentiality, resolving internal conflict, training and supervising all clinic staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and assuring patients receive high quality care and service.

In addition, the Obstetrics & Gynecolgy Clinic Manager will review internal policies and procedures and update as needed, including ensuring the effective implementation and administration of benefits programs, wage scales, job descriptions, staff policy and payroll practices as well as implement directives as defined by the facility's Business Manager.

As the ideal candidate, you must demonstrate personality, enthusiasm, strong managerial skill, computer proficiency and above average interpersonal skills. You have the ability to work within budget constraints, track staff hours, manage and compile timecards, compile information for the business office, and develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, physicians and the public.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or completion of training in business and/or health-care discipline
  • Several years experience, preferably in a business/healthcare discipline
  • Previous supervisory experience and the ability to evaluate and measure staff performance
