Production Manager

We need a Leader!

Our client, a custom steel fabricator in Grand Falls, NB.  Situated in mid-western New Brunswick, the Grand Falls Region is within ready access to Atlantic Canada and Central Canada, as well to the New England States.

In business since 1968 our client serves various Industries in the fields of Power Generation, Mining and Petro-Chem, Agricultural and Commercial. We are a Dynamic, growing company with a reputation for quality and fast turnaround. They operate out of a 26,000 sq ft facility with state of the art equipment.

Our client is seeking a seasoned Production Management level professional with hands-on experience to work in a, high volume, high level manufacturing environment to report directly to Upper Management.

• Lead and manage a work force of 20 to 25 employees
• Mentor, energize and empower the work force through leadership by example
• Develop and review disciplines practices and procedures to ensure safety, quality and productivity standards
• Plans production operations by establishing priorities and sequences for efficient manufacturing of products to specification
• Establish up-to-date fabrication schedules using ERP system to meet project delivery dates
• Monitor employees to insure that they understand and complete job assignments in a timely manner
• Ensure that the production is cost effective
• Prepares and analyzes production data to identify operational, manufacturing and maintenance issues and to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
• Assure equipment performance and quality of product
• Communicate with and guide production teams
• Liaison with engineering, drafting office, procurement, QA and other departments teams to insure on time fabrication
• Responsible for Plant's operating budget including managing and controlling expenditures and variances
• Responsible for improving processes, reducing costs and monitoring quality improvements
• Participate with the management team to identify and implement inter-departmental and company initiatives for improving organizational effectiveness and profitability
• Demonstrate ability to work through complex issues in a professional and analytical manner

The required Qualifications of the candidate are:

• At least 5 years+ progressive hands on, leadership experience in a production, steel fabrication environment
• Strong production planning and scheduling skills
• Technical, hands-on ability/experience
• Demonstrates ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under time constraints while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
