Software QA Tester

Our sophisticated and diversified products find ready applications in the fields of land management, municipal planning, seafloor and ocean mapping and chart production. CARIS continuously evolves to ensure that we are meeting and exceeding market requirements and as a result are seeking a Software QA Tester to join our Quality Assurance team.  The successful candidate will be performing a crucial role ensuring quality CARIS geospatial software solutions are market ready for our global clientele.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform acceptance, functional, and regression testing of software

Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience with MS Windows environment and applications
• Knowledge of software development and testing lifecycles
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills and ability to think logically about problems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage time to maximize productivity
• The ability to work well independently within a high performance team environment
• Previous experience writing, executing and validating test cases
• Ability to identify, document and track software defects encountered during test phases
• Enthusiasm and a can-do attitude that inspires confidence in yourself and others

Qualifications:

• A Computer Science or Engineering or Business degree is desirable but at a minimum a computer/technical college diploma is acceptable
• The equivalent practical testing experience will be considered

The following would be considered and asset:

• Experience with CARIS product suite and/or similar geospatial applications
• Experience with Quality Assurance and ISO practices
• Experience with Test Director
