Our client, a global leader in seabed-to-surface engineering and construction for the offshore oil and gas industry, is currently looking for a Lead Sub-sea Construction Engineer for their operations in St. John's, Newfoundland.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Lead Sub-sea Construction Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing the Sub-sea Construction discipline in line with business needs and ensuring technical competence within studies, tenders and projects within his/her technical area of responsibility.
- Technical delivery to projects in accordance with the requirements of the Company's Management System.
- Knowledge management and project administration processes.
- Provision of technical competence for all Discipline activities/services on studies, tenders and projects.
- Initiate and participate in Project reviews and technical audits involving Discipline activities.
- Develop and maintain applicable technical software competence/skills within discipline.
- Interface externally with customers for technical input to studies, tenders and projects as well as subcontractors and suppliers for engineering and procurement activity.
- Interface internally with Managers for implementation of safety and quality policies and strategies, technical support issues, tenders, project issues, supply chain management and offshore capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer with relevant experience and eligibility for membership with PEGNL.
- Acquainted in Legislation and Standards as relevant for the area of responsibility
- Familiar with technical software and tools within Discipline.
- Ability to set performance goals, allocate responsibility and link achievement to reward
- Networking, managing change and developing a clear vision for the Discipline.
- Supervisory experience leading a team of engineers.
