Cost Accountant
Endroit : St. John's

Our client operates a successful food processing operation in the St. John's, NL area and have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Cost Analyst to join their team.

Your responsibilities will include the further development and maintenance of an accurate costing system, analyzing and investigating manufacturing costs and variances, and budget preparation and variance analysis. You will work closely with plant supervisors, management and staff to identify continuous improvement initiatives, to improve productivity and understand workflow. Other responsibilities include month end reports and account reconciliations, development and maintenance of appropriate operating procedures and controls, inventory control and various ad hoc reports.

Strong accounting skills with proficiency in Excel are necessary for this role. The ideal candidate would be a detailed oriented individual with strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and in within a team environment. We are looking for a self-starter with a strong work ethic, proven leadership with solid organizational and communication skills. A post-secondary accounting diploma or degree is required. Enrollment in a CMA or CGA program would be an asset. Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or previous cost accounting experience would also be an asset.
