Located in the heart of downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Neptune Theatre is one of Canada’s premiere regional theatres and has provided Atlantic Canada with high-quality, professional theatre for 44 years.  Neptune Theatre is an integral part of the arts community in Nova Scotia with the 479-seat Fountain Hall Theatre, 190-seat Studio Theatre, a Theatre School with over 1,400 students, and a Young Neptune Company Tour that travels to more than 100 schools throughout Nova Scotia each year.

Neptune is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to carry out an effective Annual Giving (Donations Campaign) and to implement a new program for Planned Giving.  As the Fundraising Officer, your success will be defined through fundraising strategies that  increase donation support for the Theatre. 

The Fundraising Officer is an enthusiastic, disciplined worker with a post-secondary degree, a minimum of three years experience and a successful track record in a fundraising role.  The ideal candidate is an innovative individual with a passion for fundraising, stewardship and project management, and ideally an interest in theatre.  He/she possesses superior organizational and communication skills (written and verbal), and demonstrates superb ability with data mining and stakeholder relations management.

The Fundraising Officer will work closely with the senior management, a Board-driven Development Committee and key volunteers to plan and execute a variety of tactics for solicitation, recognition and retention of donors, and will be responsible for the growth and maintenance of Neptune Theatre’s Circle of Donors.  The Fundraising Officer will also implement the Theatre’s inaugural Planned Giving Program, including research, creation of a comprehensive marketing strategy, budget management, software acquisition, and cultivation of relationships with allied external professionals.

Part time and/or contract work arrangements will also be considered for this position.
