Purpose:

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller provides a full range of financial services to site and corporate operations.  The incumbent will drive the finance function as it relates to providing decision makers with timely financial information required for the company to achieve its business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance in the supervision of the Accounting staff for coaching, annual performance appraisals, and feedback. 
  • Assisting in the development of, and ensuring the adherence to, corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain effective financial systems and controls.
  • Identify gaps in internal controls and implement solutions using effective change management strategies.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll functions to ensure timely and accurate management of financial information.
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and manage leasing information.
  • Preparation and analysis of internal financial reports using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Provide financial expertise to all business units. 
  • Provide input and analysis into potential financial opportunities as our business continues to grow and evolve.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain any special projects assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess a recognized designation such as CA, CMA, or CGA.
  • BBA/B. Commerce Degree with emphasis in Accounting.
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to resolve varied and complex problems independently.
  • Successful track record of managing staff.
  • Embrace a fast paced, ever changing work environment. 
  • Must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
