Role Description: As a QA Analyst at PQA, you will be working to ensure our clients' software meets the highest quality standards possible by following industry recognized QA methodologies and best practices. The QA Analyst will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle and will be responsible for analyzing user requirements and functional specifications, extracting testing requirements, creating strategic test plans, writing test cases, and executing tests. The QA Analyst will participate and lead sessions with business stakeholders to gather and prioritize test scenarios, outline acceptance criteria and perform risk assessments.
General Responsibilities:
- Analyze user requirements and functional specifications to extract testing requirements
- Perform risk assessments
- Prioritize testing activities based on risks and client priorities
- Develop test plans, test cases
- Analyze and document test results
- Determine strategies for test case traceability and test coverage
- Enter and maintain defect information in defect tracking system
- Collect and analyze metrics produced from the QA process
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2-4 years of experience testing software applications
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Experience documenting functional specifications and user requirements
- Experience writing test plans and test cases
Key Competencies:
- Excellent analytical skills and commitment to continuous testing improvement
- Experienced using automated test tools
- Experienced in QA methodologies and industry best practices
- Experienced in all phases of software testing (i.e., functional, system, integration, user acceptance, etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced in interfacing with business sponsors in the development and prioritization of test scenarios and acceptance criteria
Location:
This position can be located in either Fredericton, NB, or Halifax, NS.
