Role Description: You will be part of a team to design exceptional eLearning courses for our client. You will work directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other Instructional Designers (IDs). You will report to a Project Manager (PM).

Specific responsibilities include:

• Liaise with client staff, taking time to understand their needs, and develop  the client relationship through effective communication and personal skills
• Create standards, templates and documents as needed
• Apply industry-standard instructional design principles and theories to training solution
• Design content to be cognitively engaging
• Apply instructional strategies that are consistent with the initial design concept
• Work with SMEs to write content that adheres to project standards using the principles of online learning, correct grammar, punctuation and spelling
• Write well constructed practice and assessment questions that correlate to the level of learning indicated by the learning objectives
• Review ID deliverables to ensure standards compliance
• Mentor team members as needed
• Ensure deadlines are met
• Collaborate with the PM on schedules, budgets, and deadlines (project team meetings, updating schedules, etc.)
• Promote and practicing company values in the leadership of staff and in the nurturing of a creative, innovative, and enjoyable work environment
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of instructional design and technical writing
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Skills:

• Experience as an ID or Technical Writer on ILT or Web-based learning projects
• Degree or diploma in Education, Arts, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Technical Writing, or another related field, an asset
• Knowledge in the Financial or Life Science sectors an asset
• Excellent communication, analytical, writing, and visualization skills
• Ability to collaborate with teams as well as work independently
• Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
• Proficiency with MS Office, email, and other basic PC applications
• Experience with ID authoring tools an asset
• Proven ability to quickly learn new business and technical content

This position can be located in either Fredericton, NB, or Halifax, NS.
