e-Learning Specialist
Job Description
The e-Learning Specialist will be responsible for the design and development of an online instructor led training program including various content authoring and quality assurance tasks.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executive team and professors to assess subject matter and training needs
- Advise faculty in determining appropriate instructional goals and objectives
- Create and coordinate schedules in consultation with departmental decision makers
- Analyze content, target audience, job tasks, and leaner environment to identify appropriate instructional strategies
- Design and develop instructional strategies that meet the needs of adult learners in a web-based training environment
- Liaise with educational suppliers to evaluate and/or procure software applications and teaching tools
- Consult with faculty regarding the acquisition, development, and use of multimedia educational technology in support of curricular enhancement
- Review and revise instructional content, including the quality assurance of content created by others
- Support training materials using company styles, standards, and development tools
- Ensure that all information is consistent, easy to understand, and well organized
- Proofread and edit own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of documentation
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or equivalent directly related work experience
- 2-3 years prior experience in an educational or technology based organization would be ideal
- Strong PC skills and expertise in MS Office
- Ability to understand and communicate concepts quickly and accurately
- Familiarity with the Moodle LCMS
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills are critical in this position
- High attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, schedule and meet deadlines
- Work both independently and within a team
- Proficiency in e-mail and Internet technologies on the Windows 2000/XP/Vista platform
- Ability to embrace continuous change and exhibit the adaptability to work within realistic, yet demanding deadlines
- Ability to handle stress while maintaining high attention to detail and a positive approach is crucial
- Good concentration and problem solving skills are a necessity
- Analytical thinkers who are not easily distracted perform best in this type of position
