Job Title: Business Analyst
Business Unit: Professional Services
Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick

Accountability:

Collaborate with our clients to create tailored solutions that meet their unique needs and help them compete more effectively.

Accountable for delivering the technical skills required to satisfactorily complete the assignment to the client's specifications, under minimal supervision of the Project Manager. Ensure deliverables conform to quality standards & methodologies used by the practice, region and company Deliver services in a timely manner; meet established milestones, deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaising with business partners to assist project teams in realizing and defining business functional requirements.
• Liaising with counterparts within the IS team to assist project teams in realizing and defining areas requiring collaboration to meet functional requirements.
• Accountable for translating functional requirements into technical requirements and assisting the development team with the overall design of specific applications and/or the integration of new applications.
• Design of end-to-end business system solutions in a complex application and technology environment.
• Works closely with project manager to assist with project scope definition, project plan development, cost and resource estimates, identification and mitigation of potential risks and providing solutions to ongoing issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and/or collaborate on UML design artifacts.
• Execute and manage the testing lifecycle.

Key Competencies & Skills:

This role requires a high level of interaction with clients; acting as a liaison between the business and providers of the solution. The Business Analysts provides the process, questions and techniques to efficiently extract the information needed from the business users for successful project delivery. In addition, the person will be responsible for providing mentoring and direction to a team of business analysts. The Business Analyst is also expected to participate in the high-level analysis of new solutions and provide assistance in managing ongoing projects in terms of change request, scope management and status reporting. The individual is also a member of the Business Consulting team providing management consulting to client executives in terms of aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, demonstrating ROI for IT initiatives and assessing solution feasibility.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

• Requirements Gathering   (8 - 10 years)
• Use case identification and definition modelling   (2 - 4 years)
• UML   (Proficient)
• Developing and executing test cases   (2 - 4 years)
• Developing test plans   (< 2 years)
• Proposal Writing   (2 - 4 years)

Nice To Have:

• Experience with an iterative or agile development environment.
• Experience defining requirements for Web applications.
• Experience defining requirements for Business Intelligence solutions.
• Knowledge of Database design (Oracle and SQL Server) and Data Modelling techniques.
• Software and vendor selection process.
