Beginning 2008-2009 School Year
The role of the Resource Teacher is one of collaboration and consultation with teachers, parents and support services to assist with assessment and to define appropriate intervention/strategies that incorporate individual needs.
Applicants must have:
In this collaborative/consultative model, the Resource Teacher will assist with:
- Individual programming and monitoring of SEP’s
- Assessments
- Resources and materials
- Liaising with outside agencies
- Situational Crisis
- Sound interpersonal, communication skills.
Qualifications:
- New Brunswick Teachers’ Certificate VI
- Master’s degree in Education or a Master’s degree in Special Education
- Master’s degree in Guidance
- Familiarity and competency with curriculum and programs for the appropriate level.
- Familiarity and competency with physical education curriculum at elementary level.
