Role Overview:
We are currently seeking Quality Assurance Analysts for contract work with AnyWare Group and its customers in New Brunswick.
The Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA) is responsible for testing applications and verifying that the functionality of the application conforms to the business requirements and system design specifications for the application. The QAA participates in activities involved in the quality resolution of issues or concerns related to computer system and application testing and end user issues following through to completion and communicating resolution results to development team. The QAA may be called on to use automated tools such as WinRunner, Test Director, LoadRunner, Rational Robot and Rational Functional Tester.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing, developing and executing manual and automated test plans, cases and scripts for product functionality including but not limited to maintenance, integration, usability, security, performance and regression for moderately to extremely complex software projects.
- Analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures, decision flows and design patterns and describes requirements in terms of Analysis and Design Models.
- Responsible for the population of a test environment such that a complete suite of tests can be applied.
- Conduct functional testing of on-line and batch processes and screens to test new and existing functionality within an application.
- Report defects discovered during the design and testing phases in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries in order to create, set up and verify test data is desirable.
- Work with the development team and end users to find resolutions to defects reported.
- Estimate testing effort (plan, development, execution of test cases) and contributes to project plans.
- Provide information to technical documentation and review product documentation for technical accuracy.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience - OR - a Programming Certificate from a recognized institution.
- Minimum three years experience in business operations with an emphasis on testing or process/procedural documentation
- Experience with various databases including the ability to write and execute SQL queries.
- Experience with web-based application testing is desirable.
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong analytical and problem determination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and written correspondence. Aptitude to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Detail oriented and very organized.
This position may require substantial travel depending upon the project.
