| The Ideal Candidate |
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in building maintenance or operation, with specific experience in carpentry, painting, drywalling, plumbing and HVAC. Formal building operator training or other formal trade training would be valuable assets. |
| Job Description |
Our client is a leading retail facility operator, with over 50 properties around the world. On their behalf we are seeking a qualified Building Maintenance Technician to work in a Calgary facility in a full-time, permanent role.
Regular working hours for this position are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some overtime will be required as well as availability to be on-call on a regular basis. |
| Responsibilities |
• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance on building equipment;
• Respond to tenant service requests;
• Monitor various building systems (plumbing, electrical, lighting and security systems);
• Install equipment upgrades;
• Coordinate or lead work of external contractors and security staff as required;
• Assist in general property-specific promotions. |
| Requirements |
• Grade 12 diploma;
• Building operator training or other formal trade training would be an asset;
• Proven understanding of various trade-related tasks (carpentry, painting, drywalling, plumbing and HVAC);
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude;
• Strong customer service and communication skills;
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Proven ability to make intelligent, efficient and expeditious decisions independently. |
| Compensation and Benefits Details |
This role includes a base salary of between $40,000 and $45,000, based on experience, and regular benefits after a three-month probationary period. |
