| The Ideal Candidate |
The ideal candidate would possess senior procurement experience in the oil and gas sector in Alberta, in a project-based environment. Previous experience working for a senior oil and gas company or EPCM would be ideal, along with a PMAC designation. |
| Job Description |
The successful candidate will report to the National Director of Procurement and Materials, and will be responsible for solicitation of bids and the procurement of goods and services related to the client's manaufacture of process equipment. They will work closely with the engineering team to provide procurement services, including sourcing, issuing requests for proposals and information, bid evaluation, and supplier managemnet in a project-oriented environment. |
| Responsibilities |
• Leverage market knowledge to make recommendations on sourcing major commodities and services for use in company products; • Support other departments with key market and vendor information required for bidding and fabrication of products; • Participate in the development and implementation of procurement processes including bidding, evaluation, favoured vendors, etc.; • Audit and pre-qualify vendors for adherence to quality and scheduling requirements; • Support and lead procurement activities; • Collaborate with senior management to drive process change and improvements. |
| Requirements |
• Five to ten years of progressively responsible experience in procurement of oil and gas package systems, ideally in Western Canada or Alberta; • Demonstrated success in sourcing, issuing requests for proposal and quotation, bid evaluation and negotiation; • Strong background in project-oriented environment and project-related cost control; • Experience in commodity and service market (fabricated skids and buildings, HVAC systems, trades contracting, heavy equipment, instrumentation, etc.); • Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) designation; • Relevant post-secondary education; • Strong written and oral communication skills; • Strong collaborative abilities; • Ability to manage numerous competing priorities in an effective manner; • Experience with ERP software and MS Office. |

This role includes competitive compensation based on experience ($75,000 to $100,000), and a full range of benefits. |
