Home Support Worker/Continuing Care Assistant
 (Temporary Part-Time 40% to March 31, 2009)

VON Antigonish Branch has an opening for a Home Support Worker/ Continuing Care Assistant to work in the Adult Day Program.  The incumbent will assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic recreational activities for clients of the program.  Other duties will include snack preparation and feeding, personal care, and providing support and assistance to clients where required.  The qualifications are as follows:

• Home Support Worker Certification/Continuing Care Assistant Certification.
• Current CPR/Standard First Aid Certification.
• Food Handler's Education Course an asset.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Demonstrated interest in working with seniors and/or cognitively impaired clients.
• Ability to be creative to provide meaningful activities to clients of the ADP.
• Above average communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
