Our client is seeking an Intermediate Open Pit Mining Engineer for their Saskatoon office. The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in mining engineering 
  • Minimum of BSc degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • 3+ years underground and/or open pit experience on at least one minesite (preferably metalliferous) in either a mine operational or technical role. A variety of experience is considered desirable.
  • Knowledge of mine planning software (Gemcom, DataMine, Surpac, MineSight, etc.)
  • EIT or P.Eng. or the ability to become an EIT or P.Eng.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and in unsupervised, independent situations
  • Problem solving and economic analysis experience
  • Knowledge of a second language an advantage
  • Preference will be given to candidates residing in North America.

The successful candidate will consult on projects for North American and International clients; requiring significant travel. Assignments will include technical support for engineering studies (scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility), operational advice and due diligence/independent reporting on projects for North American and international clients. The position demands high quality work performed in a timely manner.

As a consultant, the successful candidate will be expected to create and maintain client relationships and work in a team environment as well as being self-sufficient and able to work independently. Strong communication skills and interpersonal capabilities are essential.
