Today we have an opportunity for a Reliability-Vibration Analyst. The successful candidate will collect, monitor, and record the performance of all plant rotating equipment for the condition monitoring department to increase machine reliability using vibration, ultrasonic, thermo-graphic and oil analysis techniques.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform duties safely and in conformance with applicable codes and OHSA regulations.
- Work with maintenance planners and technicians in planning maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot performance problems with data analysis and calculations and recommend corrective actions as required.
- Track equipment usage from PI system and from the DCS as a performance monitoring tool.
- Write guidelines that will be incorporated in operating and/or maintenance procedures.
- Develop tactics and strategies that will allow plant equipment to achieve optimum performance by maximizing reliability.
- Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems by using a combination of field work, interviewing operators/maintainers and use of DCS tools.
- Conduct formal root cause analyses, write and distribute reports and implement results.
- Monitor maintenance performed on plant equipment by visiting the field and talking to maintenance personnel for the purposes of determining more reliable solutions to failures and worn equipment.
- Conduct acceptance testing of new machinery.
Position Requirements:
- Mechanical or electrical trade certificate.
- CMVA (Canadian Machinery Vibration Association) level 2 – 3 vibration analyst or equivalent.
- 5 or more years working with industrial rotating equipment.
- 3 years experience using advanced vibration, ultrasonic, oil analysis techniques, or other reliability field type activities.
- Experience in paper manufacturing will be considered an asset.
- Experience with Entek – Emonitor 3.3 and Metso – Sensodec 6S systems considered an asset.
- Experience in Field balancing techniques considered an asset.
- Well developed communication skills.
- Ability to work and excel in a flexible team environment.
- Knowledge and experience in Thermo-Mechanical Pulping and Paper production is considered an asset.
