Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Casual Positions: Long-Term Care
Position Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will perform a wide range of nursing competencies including administering medications, and completing healthcare assessments. The LPN provides nursing services for a variety of clients in diverse settings, including long term care, and continuing care. The LPN is an essential part of the discipline of nursing, and the healthcare delivery system. The LPN will work in collaboration with other health care professionals and are accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions. The LPN will continue to build on their education and practical experience to ensure they practice according to their professions' Scope of Practice, Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved practical nurse program or equivalent
- Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia
- Current CPR certification required
- Nursing experience is required
- Demonstrated clinical and technical skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and supervise patient care
- Ability to demonstrate sound decision making skills and be accountable for decisions
- Basic computer skills
Hours of Work:
Casual as per LPNs availability
Salary:
$22.25 per hour + vacation pay (4%)
