Our client, a Halifax-based distribution company, has grown via acquisition from $100 million to $900 million in under three years – and they’re not done yet!
As a result of their rapid growth and projected future growth, they seek a Financial Modeler.
Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Development and as a member of the Corporate Development team, the Financial Modeler will use financial models, frameworks and techniques in order to analyze the financial dynamics of potential acquisition targets.
This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where change is constant and growth through acquisition is a major corporate objective.
This is a tremendous opportunity to get into this rapidly expanding company at the ground level. Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Collecting Information, performing analysis and modeling with respect to financial analysis (determining assumptions), variance analysis, industry research, market research, market information, etc.
- Assist in the development of business cases
- Assist in the financial due diligence process
- Provide assistance to the finance team on various projects
Qualifications:
- Professional designation required, CA, CFA
- Investment banking experience considered an asset
- 2 to 5 years experience in financial analysis
- Ability to set priorities and make decisions concisely and independently
- Ability to articulate complex situations and maintain strong internal and external relationships
- Proficient in analyzing and interpreting large amounts of data to form a clear conclusion
