Position Scope:

This new position offers a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) the opportunity to work with the collaborating physicians, members of the communities served and staff of the district to develop and implement a new service within Digby County. The NP will provide the full range of primary care services including health promotion, injury and illness prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of community development and advocacy.  These services are provided within a holistic, client-centered care framework.  The home base for the NP will be the Meteghan Community Health Centre but the NP will provide services on a regular basis to other locations within the county.

Qualifications:

• Registered or eligible to register as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner or a reasonable combination of nursing experience and education.
• Proved skills as an autonomous and self-directed practitioner.
• Ability to practice within the Nova Scotia Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice.
• Bilingual both oral and written (French & English) preferred.

This position offers a competitive benefit package and salary up to $90,909.59.
