Marine Liaison Engineer

Under the supervision of the Project Engineer at the Production Support Department (Engineering), the Liaison Engineer is responsible for the following up of the design work development outsourced to sub-contractors. For the project design, modelling or drafting sub-contractors, the Liaison Engineer represents the prime authority.

Responsible for:

  • Leading the development of the sub-contractor selection criteria.
  • Developing and negotiating the sub-contracts.
  • Leading and managing the technical relations with the project’s design, modelling and drafting sub-contractors.
  • Leading and managing the contractual relations with the project’s sub-contractors, i.e. cost control, performance control, risk identification and solution development.
  • Acting as the prime technical resource in support to design sub-contractors.
  • Controlling selected equipment integration to the design by the sub-contractors.
  • Executing all other related assignment in line with the function responsibilities to his supervisor’s request.

Job Requirements:

  • Related engineering or naval architecture diploma.
  • 8 years of experience as designer in engineering (structure, mechanical, electrical) or naval architecture.
  • Experienced in technical writing.
  • Experienced in contractual writing.
  • Shipbuilding experience recommendable.
  • Experienced user of Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experienced user of AutoCad, Tribon, or similar drafting software.
  • Strong capabilities in developing team work.
  • Management and administration experience.
  • English language mastery and French language knowledge recommendable.
  • Sense of responsibility.
  • Has experienced conditions requiring strong and proven autonomy qualities.
  • Availability for regular and extended trips. Overseas short term attendance may be required – Valid passport required.
