IMP Aerospace Components (IMPAC) is one of four divisions of IMP Aerospace Core Group located in Nova Scotia.  IMPAC is a Lean manufacturer and integrator of aerospace structural components and assemblies to major aircraft manufacturers including: Bombardier, Boeing, Bell Helicopter, Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin; with capabilities that include: full sheet metal forming, machining, processing and finishing, metal-to-metal and composite bonding, structural assembly, and repair and overhaul.

Continuous Improvement Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional people skills to provide technical support and leadership to our Continuous Improvement initiatives relating to all aspects of the business and production processes.  This position plays a key role in implementation and support of the JIT/Lean Production System within a unionized environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training to staff of Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement tools
  • Lead Improvement Events with specific defined goals to improve cost, quality and delivery of product
  • Provide analysis of current plant performance and recommendations and actions for improvement
  • Support business processes to reduce waste and optimize productivity
  • Establish yearly Continuous Improvement plan and execute it's successful completion
  • Through analysis of job costing data, develop processes and analytical techniques to identify poor performing products or production processes

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree or formal Continuous Improvement training
  • 5 or more years experience in delivering and implementing continuous improvement tools
  • Experience with JIT / Lean Manufacturing systems
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of computers, specifically Microsoft Applications (Excel, Access, Powerpoint)
  • Strong team orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven conflict resolution skills
