National Manager Outside Plant Construction
Our client, a leading innovative telecommunications and entertainment services company requires a National Manager Outside Plant Construction whose primary responsibilities will be to develop the cable and fiber network infrastructure across their entire Canadian operations.
Role Specifics:
- Overall project management of capital projects including accuracy verification of all invoices, schedule tracking of assigned projects, materials management, health and safety responsibilities
- Develop yearly capital budget and cost estimates for the assigned projects and provide quarterly capital forecasts and issue approvals
- Develop and maintain the rebuild project time lines and issue and manage the tender process
- Conduct regular meetings with the local utilities to define their objectives and times lines and review the status of the make-ready
- Provide work and material forecasts to contractors, distributors and/or manufacturers
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate in a fast paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes at short notice
- Ability to analyze complex issues and provide leadership and direction
- Excellent Communications skills with proven negotiation prowess
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated cable and fiber network experience in an outside plant construction environment
- Project Management experience including scheduling, planning and capital budgeting
- Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Technologist preferred
- Computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Project Management, Excel and PowerPoint
