Cool Public Firm Seeks Atypical Accountant ASAP.

Our client does not consider themselves to be a “typical” accounting firm nor do their clients. They are well established, well known, and are actually kind of cool! They know how to balance between giving clients the first rate service that they have come to expect while respecting their own employee’s work life balance. They believe in working hard so they can play hard….how do we know? Well, they work hard during the busy season so they can have 3 day weekends all summer. Their employees end up being over-time neutral and having the equivalent of five weeks vacation per year.

Our client works with medium to large owner managed businesses (minimal personal tax returns) and they are seeking a Chartered Accountant to join forces with their Halifax, NS team. Most of their clients are based in HRM so there is limited travel and time away from home.

You will have the opportunity to work with the owners/managers of companies in a wide range of business environments providing some or all of the following services:

• General bookkeeping and government reporting
• Preparation of financial statements
• Completion of working paper files for audit review and notice to readers
• Corporate tax returns
• Assistance to clients with payroll and tax compliance
• General accounting functions

You are a CA with strong oral and written skills, and have developed the ability to establish and maintain excellent client relations. You have one to three years of relevant work experience with medium/large sized companies/clients, have demonstrated the ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment.
