ORTT System Integrator/Software Developer (2 positions available)

The Operations Room Team Trainer (ORTT) system integrator / developer shall be responsible for the integration / software development of new / updated systems in supporting the lifecycle of ORTT. This position requires the ability to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions for a large-scale, mission critical, real-time Command and Control system simulator within a team environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
The ORTT system integrator / developer working in a team environment shall be responsible for:
- Performing development, integration and programmer testing of new software and system changes for the ORTT ISS Program that meet the detailed requirements as established in the Software Change Process of Halifax Software Support Facility.
- Perform Investigations, Impact Assessments and implementations on ORTT and CCS integration of new subsystems for the ORTT.
- Provide scheduling and cost estimation for assigned tasks.
- Perform work following detailed scheduling and cost commitments.
- The size of software changes to be developed range from small to extensive system upgrades.
- Establish a detailed understanding of the functional operation of the ORTT system.
- Provide support on the identification and analysis of required ORTT Technology Refresh items including performing market surveys.
- Update supporting technical documentation for software changes
- The successful candidate must be eligible to meet requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearances.
Qualifications/Experience
Candidates with strong Object Oriented Design, C/C++/JAVA programming and UNIX skills are preferred. Candidates should also have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite. Applicants will have completed a University degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. The applicant must have strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills. Training or experience with the following topics will be an asset: real-time systems, system architecture analysis and design, communication protocols, graphical user interface design, UML, CASE tools, Use Case diagrams, distributed network topologies, requirements management including such tools as Telelogic's DOORS.
