Our client in Hamilton is looking to hire qualified Dental Hygienists to start immediately.
Candidates must be available on an on-call basis, working periodic shifts. This is a terrific opportunity to pick up an extra shift if you are currently working part-time.

| Responsibilities |
Evaluate and recognize existing oral conditions requiring treatment
Ensure appropriate documentation
Maintain accurate and confidential records
Collect, record, and maintain data and reports on mandated programs and clinical services
Carry out non-surgical diagnostic and clinical preventive services (prophylaxis, fluoride, pit & fissure sealant, scaling, oral hygiene instruction, diet counseling, smoking cessation and other services as appropriate)
Prepare and sterilize instruments; maintain laboratory and dental equipment, as required
Help maintain inventory of clinical supplies and inform staff responsible for ordering when supplies are low
Co-ordinate, assemble and present various reports (both written and verbal) as required

| Requirements |
Demonstrated knowledge of the theories and principles of dental hygiene
Current registration with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO)
Current CPR Basic Rescuer certification
Experience in a computerized environment (ABELDent)
Working knowledge of patient screening, charting, and medical history procedures and documentation
Demonstrated ability to set up and prepare dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to relate to peers, superiors and patients with tact and professionalism
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally with patients
Must possess a valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence
