The Canadian Bar Association - Nova Scotia Branch (CBANS) is the voice of the legal profession in Nova Scotia.   Through advocacy, continuing legal education and a variety of member benefits, the CBANS serves our membership of 1138 of lawyers, judges and law students in Nova Scotia.  We are the provincial arm of the national Canadian Bar Association.  For more information, please visit our website www.cba.org/ns

The CBANS seeks a motivated individual with a diverse skill set to join our team.  Working in cooperation with and under the supervision of the Executive Director, the successful candidate will possess the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Event planning experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
• Ability to coordinate committees and activities in a fast paced environment
• A keen eye for detail and be highly organized
• Experience with online programming and services
• Working knowledge of WordPerfect, the Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing
• Marketing and writing experience including reports and funding proposals
• Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff, professional volunteers, our membership and the public, and
• Working knowledge of Simply Accounting

Most importantly, the successful candidate must have a well developed sense of humour!
