Verafin is a software company that specializes in anti-money-laundering and fraud detection solutions for the financial services industry. We are a leading vendor in the Canadian marketplace and are rapidly growing our US customer base. We're currently looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team.
IT Support Specialist
Working with our Operations Team, you will be responsible for providing support to end users on a variety of issues; identifying, researching, and resolving desktop computing and printing problems; responding to email and other requests for technical support; and documenting, tracking, and monitoring end-user inquiries to ensure a timely resolution. You will be responsible for maintaining a web based (wiki) knowledge base of common problems experienced by end users. In addition, you will assist with networking and server administration.
Qualifications:
Mandatory
- Completion of a college level IT program
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Particularly Outlook 2000 – 2007)
- One to three years in IT support service
- Working knowledge of networked printers
- Network backup procedures and software
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent writing skills and an effective communicator
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision
Considered an asset
- Familiarity with SQL, Linux, and Macintosh
- Windows 2003 Networking and Active Directory
- Network monitoring tools
- Cisco switching and routing experience
- Exchange 2007 experience
- Exposure to mobile devices (Blackberry and Windows Mobile)
- File transfer services (FTP, HTTP, etc…)
