Wanted: Account Director

So you've got the brief thing down pat. Marketing briefs. Creative briefs. Critical pants, ahem, I mean critical paths. But one thing is far from brief – your list of talents. As the primary liaison between the company and clients, you will valiantly lead both account and creative teams in the development of strategic, effective marketing campaigns. (Okay, that sounded kinda stiff. This is a creative environment for crying out loud! ) Here's the straight-up version… You'll develop a kick-butt game plan that you believe will exceed the client's needs. You will eloquently communicate that plan to your team members. You will oversee the project as it comes to life. And you will high-five everybody when the client gets unprecedented results. You've got a passion for advertising and energy up the ying yang. You're a sharp business mind, but you're also creative at heart, so you know a good idea when you hear or see one. You know advertising. That's why you never let crazy deadlines get your undies in a bunch. Because you're just that good.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate and coordinate meetings with clients to determine their advertising requirements, time frames and budgets.
  • Guide the development of strategic marketing and communications plans for clients and monitor campaign effectiveness.
  • Prepare analyses of brand plans and develop internal creative briefs, marketing briefs and critical paths.
  • Set priorities, develop workflow and provide leadership for the creative team to ensure creative strategies meet client needs in a timely manner.
  • Develop estimates and monitor overall job costs.
  • Address account issues and present solutions to clients.
  • Prepare monthly billing and client status reports for the Vice President.
  • Review all creative materials and present to clients. Prepare and monitor budgets.
  • Prepare weekly client status report on all accounts.
  • Support new business initiatives including assistance with the preparation of business development proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate business degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a concentration in marketing.
  • Five (5) years related project management experience preferably in an agency environment.
  • Strong iinterpersonal, organizational, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills.
