Location: Dartmouth, NS

Scanwood Canada Limited is a locally owned manufacturing plant based out of Dartmouth N.S., producing furniture for IKEA. We are well known for our quality work and currently have a great opportunity for someone as an Electro Mechanic.

Specific Duties:

Working within the Maintenance Department, this person will be a part of the team and must possess but not be limited to having a sound knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems, boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, fans and air compressors. The incoming must be committed to upgrading job related skills and must be flexible concerning hours.

Skills: Candidate should possess:

• Ability to interpret and work from all applicable mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawing and diagrams
• Effective troubleshooting skills
• Ability to perform assigned tasks on all equipment and installations
• Ability to maintain and / or repair heating and cooling systems, water, compressed air and ventilations systems
• Ability to set up and operate maintenance equipment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

General Requirements:

• Minimum one - two years experience in an industrial setting
• Experience working in a unionized, rotating shift environment will be considered an asset
• Knowledge of common MS computer applications as well as AutoCAD
• Electromechanical Diploma is required
• Experience in Manufacturing environment an asset
