Position Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Calgary, AB

Department: Accounting and Finance

Responsibilities:

• Month end closing procedures and reporting
• Maintain various balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and process journal entries on a regular basis
• Assist with quarter end and year end reports
• Supervise GL and AP staff
• Handles special projects as required

Qualifications/Education:

• Completion of a professional accounting designation (CA/CGA/CMA) would be considered an asset
• Minimum of university degree/college diploma and be pursuing an accounting designation plus 5 years of progressive, well rounded accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experienced computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and Oracle (or SAP)
• Advanced organizational skills, must be able to multi-task
• Ability to work under strict time constraints
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively present to senior management
