Application Developer
We are currently looking for an Application Developer to join our Fredericton team, assisting us with the development of Chalk's core suite of products for our customers and related development projects. As a key member of our Platform Services team, you will be an integral part of delivering quality software output that meets our customer's business requirements.
What you will do:
- Develop software design specifications for approval and review, based on pre-defined customer requirements.
- Develop clean, readable and reusable code based on the approved design specification, adhering to Chalk's software design methodologies and best practices.
- Make use of patterns and best practices outlined for Microsoft Enterprise Architects, as a part of Chalk Media's software design methodologies and best practices.
- Participate in and perform peer code reviews.
What you will bring:
Experience with team-based .NET development using some or all of the following technologies and applications:
- MS Visual Studio .NET
- MS Visual SourceSafe
- MS SQL Server
- MS Internet Information Server
- All variations of Internet browser applications
Experience with or strong understanding of Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server, IIS, ASP, ASP.NET, C#, ADO, JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, and HTML.
Exposure to relational database principles and development practices with special attention to modeling, normalization, advanced query construction, tuning and optimization.
Proven software analysis, design, and implementation expertise with 3-5 years of related work experience.
Ability to work independently on well defined tasks and follow-up on actions items while demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills:
Practical knowledge of any of the following technologies would be considered an asset:
- MS SQL Reporting Services
- Adobe Flash and ActionScript
