Human Resources Manager

The Hilton Saint John is seeking a highly motivated, people and customer oriented Human Resources Manager. As a member of the Hotel's Executive Team, your primary function is to effectively develop, maintain and administer the Human Resources function to support the efficient operation of Hilton Saint John and Trade and Convention Center.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance, guidance and counseling to the General Manager, management staff and line team members on various issues.
  • Develop, implement and administer policies and programs related to the management of all hotel personnel.
  • Ensure the performance management, career development and succession planning processes are effective and in use.
  • Ensure that team members are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration and monitoring of all training programs.
  • Control the administration of wages and benefits.
  • Manage all team member and labor relations.
  • Direct and instruct the management staff in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Skills/ Knowledge and Experience

  • Four year university degree preferred.
  • Five years combined general Human Resources and supervisory/management experience.
  • Prior hotel experience an asset.
  • Experience within a similarly sized unionized operation is preferred.
