                                            ASSISTANT FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER
    
Hilton Saint John is this city’s only 4 ½ star hotel. We are located in the downtown core overlooking the Saint John harbour.  We offer a fun and dynamic work environment where striving to exceed our guest’s expectations is of utmost importance. Our reputation for outstanding service is only possible because of our exceptional team at all levels in the hotel.
We are seeking an experienced food and beverage individual to lead our team of Trade Centre Houseman. This team is part of the Banquet department and is responsible for set up, tear down and cleaning of all our meeting rooms.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 
• Hire, train, schedule, supervise and counsel all members of the Trade Centre House Attendants in accordance with established standards for safety, productivity and performance.
• Assists with the planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions including floor plans.
• Direct staff in set up and tear down of the meeting rooms and associated areas.
• Responsible for directing the cleaning of all meeting rooms and areas.
• Greets meeting planners and responds to requests.
• Speaks at pres shift meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars, expectations, bite size training and Brand Standards.
• Assists with set up and clean up when business levels or time pressure dictates.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of equipment and how to maintain it.
• Basic knowledge of the hotel structure/layout and how all departments interact.
• Will demonstrate attention to detail and commit to taking pride in your work.
• Ability to operate computer in Window environment, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English so as to fully comprehend job requests, notices, event orders and similar written materials.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for long periods of time, eight hours or more to continuously perform job functions.
• Ability to occasionally assist with lifting and moving heavy equipment or furniture.

EXPERIENCE:
• Previous supervisory experience required, hospitality experience preferred.
• Previous experience with banquet room set ups an asset.

WORK SCHEDULE: Shifts will vary. Must be available to work days, evenings, holidays, weekends and at times long hours.
