Duties:
You lead a large group of tourism professionals in Nova Scotia’s Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage and are responsible for tourism policy and research, strategic planning, product development, business development, sales and marketing.  Leveraging a $20 million budget, you seek out opportunities to develop partnerships and build the economic potential of tourism in Nova Scotia.  As a key member of the department’s executive team, you work closely with senior staff, the deputy minister, minister, and industry partners including the joint industry-government Tourism Partnership Council. 
   
Qualifications:
An innovative, enthusiastic leader, you are an excellent communicator who knows how to guide and motivate a team. Building relationships is second nature, particularly with staff colleagues, partners and stakeholders. You have a post-secondary education in commerce, marketing or sales, with at least 10 years of strong marketing, business development, sales and/or branding experience and you have worked at least five years at the senior management level.  Although you are a strategic thinker who involves others in decision-making, you are results oriented and work well under pressure.  Experience in the tourism industry and government are considered assets.


Classification Range:  MCP 32
    
Salary Range:    $83,092 to $108,019
