Reservations Sales Agents

  • Limited Full-time Positions, year round
  • Numerous, Full time Seasonal contract positions
  • Numerous Full time peak tourism season contract positions from May to September
  • Hours of operation during peak season are from 8:00 am to 12:00 midnight, 7 days/week, 363 days/year (Please note: hours subject to change based on the needs of the business)
  • Scheduled work hours 37.5/week

As a Reservation Sales Agent at Blue Ocean Contact Centers, you will answer incoming calls from international customers. You will be required to provide accurate, detailed information, generate interest, sales and loyalty and ultimately customer satisfaction for numerous clients. These clients include Tourism Nova Scotia's Check In Reservations and Information Service, BAY Ferries, THE CAT, and NFL Ferries (Northumberland) Ferries.
 
Your major responsibilities will be:  

  • To convert interest and inquires into reservations 
  • To generate sales and up-sell on the various clients products and services and to meet aggressive sales goals 
  • To meet and exceed specific personal and performance standards including but not limited to the following: schedule adherence, sales conversions, quality, productivity 
  • To be adaptable, flexible and to be able to handle customer challenges in a professional and courteous manner 
  • To input accurate customer data into computer systems 
  • To fulfill customer expectations in ways that also comply with established policies and procedures 

Successful applicants will: 

  • Possess proven selling expertise in a "target" based environment 
  • Have a background or strong interest in travel and Nova Scotia tourism 
  • Have a clear and concise telephone communication skills, coupled with "active listening" skills 
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills 
  • Have a good working knowledge of the 'Windows' operating system, Internet and Email 
  • Be dynamic, perseverant, and ambitious as well as a results-orientated individual 
  • Possess superior command of both the English and French languages (preference given to bilingual candidates) 
  • Successfully achieve a passing grade on a written examination assessing depth of knowledge of Nova Scotia's history, geography, festivals and events; resource tool - NS Doers and Dreamers travel guide
  • Have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays (vacation black out period from July 1st to early Sept)
  • Possess the ability to handle confidential and credit information in a professional manner 
  • Possess excellent multi-tasking skills 
  • Possess a "can-do attitude and the ability to take on other tasks to support a team environment
  • The capability to work on a computer for extended periods and have a minimum typing speed of 30 wpm
  • Possess excellent problem solving skills, initiative and work commitment

This year's training sessions are scheduled for February 11th, March 17th, April 6th, May 11th, and June 1st.  Positions are limited so don't miss out.
