The OSCO Construction Group consists of construction and manufacturing companies that fabricate both steel & precast concrete products and perform specialty construction services.  Our Group has experienced steady, stable growth since its conception in 1955.  We currently have a career opportunity in Steel Detailing with Ocean Steel & Construction Ltd. located in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Responsibilities:

• Detailing structural steel using Design Data SDS/2 software;
• Accurately producing shop drawings to meet contract specifications;
• Effectively utilizing detailing software to produce quality drawings;
• Thoroughly cross-checking architectural & structural contract drawings for conflicts and checking connection access for erection.

Education Requirements - Knowledge & Skills:

• Candidates with post secondary education in Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology or previous experience in the construction industry along with the ability to read blueprints and desire to learn steel detailing will be considered;
• Previous experience with architectural drafting/detailing using a computerized drafting software package would be a definite asset;
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
