The Opportunity: As a member of the Trades and Technology faculty team, you will provide theoretical and practical instruction in pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship and other refrigeration and air conditioning related programs. You will evaluate learning and provide feedback, assist in the development and electronic preparation of related course/program materials, offer academic and career advisement, and provide leadership with respect to shop safety and development. You will also liaise with industry and represent the College when required. You will also maintain currency with the latest industry practices.
Your Credentials:
- You possess a current Inter-provincial Journeyperson status in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade, combined with a minimum of five years of recent and related occupational experience in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration systems and their respective control systems, or the recognized equivalencies. (NOTE: Two years of your training will be counted towards the educational requirements and cannot be counted towards your occupational experience).
- Based on the range of skills required in the HVAC/R industry, training and/or certification in the fields of natural/propane gas, electrical/electronics and mechanical/ventilation related systems would be considered and asset.
- Ideally, you should have extensive experience in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.
- You have related computer skills, including MSWord, Excel, Internet, and E-mail.
- You are innovative and are committed to life-long learning and community involvement.
- You are familiar with the concepts of portfolio education and reflective educational practices.
- Your desire and enthusiasm to teach students with diverse backgrounds and knowledge, along with superb presentation, interpersonal and team building skills, make you an ideal candidate.
- As a creative self-starter, you have been recognized for your high energy, your ability to work in a team environment and your commitment to excellence.
Salary range is $50,373 to $68,261.14 annually.
