Position: Cook
Status: Temporary Part-time (maternity leave) to February, 2009
Department: Nutrition Services
Responsible To: Nutrition Services Manager through Food Service Supervisor
Hours of Work: 24 hours per week.
Must be available for various shifts and on weekends.
Position Summary:
The Cook is responsible for meal preparation for residents, staff, volunteers and community programs; responsible for preparing and serving meals for residents. Preparation of items for catering functions when necessary.
Qualifications/Experience/Education:
- Formal cook's training or equivalent experience. A working knowledge of therapeutic diets would be an asset.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good mental and physical health.
- Good communication skills.
- Well-groomed, neat and clean appearance.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Interested in personal learning and development.
- Able to relate to elderly persons.
- Able to fulfill requirements of the position as demonstrated by regular attendance.
