| The Ideal Candidate |
The ideal candidate would possess five years of outside technical sales experience, complemented by technical training in engineering or industrial equipment, and would enjoy interacting with a range of people on a daily basis. |
| Job Description |
Reporting to a regional sales manager, the Outside Technical Sales Representative will develop long-term relationships in order to sell company products to potential clients in the assigned market (municipalities, EPCMs, primary resource extractors, OEMs, etc.). |
| Responsibilities |
• Identify, qualify and secure sales opportunities for company products in assigned markets and territory; • Develop, nurture and maintain close working relationships with decision-makers in assigned markets; • Influence and assist in preparing technical specifications on company products for engineering consultants; • Provide market intelligence to inside sales staff during quoting process; • Follow up on quotes issued by inside sales staff. • Develop and maintain project activity reports; • Assist in developing sales forecasts; • Develop and implement product presentations for engineering consultants and facilitate lunch and learn sessions; • Work directly with represented manufacturers to obtain technical information, project pricing and special requirements; • Promote company products at regional trade shows. |
| Requirements |
• Five years of experience in technical/engineering sales; • Proven ability to effectively present ideas and influence buying decisions; • Technical education (engineering or related field) preferred; • Demonstrated knowledge of Western Canadian industry; • Superior communication abilities; • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; • Ability to work independently or as part of a team. |
| Compensation and Benefits Details |
This role includes a competitive base salary and the opportunity to earn commission based on performance. Regular benefits are also included. |
