We are looking for a Sales Trainee to join our team full-time in the Halifax Office and in support of the Atlantic Region. The Sales Trainee will learn our business and develop a general understanding of the commercial real estate industry by working in the research department while obtaining his/her real estate license. The Sales Trainee will perform specialized tasks related to the research requirements for the Atlantic region in addition to assisting sales professionals/teams with specific research and market information requirements. Individuals should be enthusiastic and motivated with excellent relationship building skills, and should regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment. A valid driver's license is required for this position. Please note this is a demanding position, but with significant growth potential and rewards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researches, compiles and verifies information and prepares standard and special reports
- Maintenance and administration of various databases including database audits to ensure data integrity
- Ensure all building, prospect; picture and developer files are up to date, properly organized and filed
- Interact and develop working relationship with landlords, brokers, lawyers, researchers, and clients regarding marketing requirements and to gather necessary data
- Interact with National Research and assist in providing accurate information on Atlantic Canada, as well participate in monthly National Research conference calls
- Assist sales professionals and local management with projects, production of marketing materials, and assembly of presentation materials
- Accurate and timely dissemination of correspondence and marketing materials
- Attends appropriate meetings with professional(s)
- Miscellaneous administrative responsibilities, information requests and special projects as required by Management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments and work effectively to achieve competing deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to take the initiative
- Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently
- Post-secondary education is required; industry related experience would be an asset
- Computer proficiency with MS-Office, in a Windows environment, along with experience in Adobe In-Design and database management
- Knowledge of MapInfo and the ability to navigate/research on the Internet is a definite asset.
