General Manager

Our Client a privately owned company with operations in North America and experience in all sectors of the food service industry is seeking a General Manager based in Moncton. 

To be successful in this position you must be a hand’s on Leader with a strong operations background, understand the financials and have a flair for sales.  You can make decisions and move the business forward keeping the best interest of the company and clients in mind at all times.  This is an opportunity for someone that is looking for a challenge and a company where you can make your mark.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performing on-site monitoring, inspections, testing and audit processing to ensure that HACCP, Food Defense and Food Security principals are maintained on a multi-shift operation.
  • Ensure quality and HACCP documentation is maintained.
  • Ensuring compliance with existing and emerging international regulatory standards and customer expectations.
  • Resolving food quality and safety issues.
  • Planning, organizing and executing experiments and projects as well as providing analysis and reports.
  • Product development and sample preparation.
  • Monitoring and supervising the technical team and sales force.
  • Providing support systems and solutions for customers.
  • Liaison – communicating deficiencies and correct actions.

  • Able to complete tasks and projects on time.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands.
  • Able to effectively manage time and successfully deal with multiple variables and changing priorities.
  • Able to commit to additional hours of work when necessary to reach goals during peak periods.
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions and use reason when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Able to look for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Able to self-asses as well as apply feedback to ensure quality and improve performance.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Management, Food Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in operations, food processing, quality management or related activity. Sales experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of associated international government regulations and programs.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
