The City of Saint John is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Commissioner, Municipal Operations. This position will lead the integrated delivery of transportation, pedestrian and environmental public services, and manage those services to optimize community benefits, enhance sustainability of infrastructure assets, achieve performance excellence, and strengthen accountability for results.
A highly motivated leader with exceptional communication and managerial skills, preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of New Brunswick or be eligible for such designation. A Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university, ideally with completion of a complementary Masters' program and additional professional development is desired. Other educational backgrounds may also be considered. In addition, five or more years directly related experience at a senior level of responsibility and complexity, ideally in a combination of both public works service and the private sector; with an extensive background in managerial, leadership and administrative functions is necessary.
