Scotsburn Dairy Group, a leading processor and distributor of fresh quality dairy products and ice cream in Atlantic Canada, requires a Warehouse Shift Supervisor at its Sydney, N.S., location.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership, direction and coaching to warehouse team.
• Effectively scheduling warehouse team to achieve efficiencies within the warehouse.
• Supervising the assembling and loading of local home delivery, convenience and chain store orders in the most efficient and accurate manner.
• Supervising the unloading of delivery vehicle returns.
• Supervising the shipping and receiving of all products from/to other company branches with utmost accuracy.
• Servicing customers and responding to customer enquiries during the shift.
• Completing the necessary computerized invoices and shipping/receiving documents for both customer orders and interbranch shipping.
• Implementing and maintaining good health and safety practices.
• Interpreting and administering the collective agreement and progressive discipline policies.
• Ensuring all established GMP’s quality and HACCP principles are adhered to.
• General housekeeping, sanitation and maintenance of the fridge, freezer, loading dock area and forklifts.

Qualifications required:

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse / production facility.
• Warehouse/loading dock experience.
• Familiar with the operation of forklifts.
• Supervisory experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Post secondary education considered an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• This position requires flexibility to work shifts.
