Feed Nova Scotia is an umbrella organization serving approximately 150 member agencies throughout Nova Scotia.  More than 40,000 individuals rely on the organization to supplement their regular food supply each month.  To keep pace with the growing need for food assistance, the organization relies heavily on the community for generous levels of financial and food contributions.

Description:

The Food Distributor delivers and pickups food from donors to member agencies throughout the province. This position is critical to the organization; Food Distributors act as ambassadors for the organization, maintaining relationships with food donors and member agencies. The individual must be self-motivated, able to consistently perform heavy lifting, and adapt to varied work requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collecting food from donors and distributing the same to member agencies
• Maintaining relationships with food donors and member agencies
• Consistently perform heavy lifting, and meet time-lines in a fast paced and physically demanding environment.
• Loading and unloading goods

Qualification Requirements:

• Valid Class 3 drivers license
• Air brakes certified
• 9 years driving experience; experience driving large vehicles.
• Good physical condition; ability to consistently lift up to 25 kgs
• Professionalism in customer service
• Flexible, self-motivated
• Acceptable drivers abstract
• Good communication skills with attention to detail
• Respect and understand the issue of confidentiality
