Acadian Mining Corporation is seeking an Environmental Technician to be heavily engaged in maintaining the Company’s high standard of environmental conservation and protection for Acadian Mining Corporation’s Scotia Mine site located in Gays River, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will report to the Health, Safety, Environment, and Hygiene Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
- Daily sampling of static water levels and inspection of weirs and dams
- Weekly sampling for Metal Mine Effluent Regulation and Weir ph
- Monthly sampling for acute lethality and surface and groundwater
- Submitting data to government officials
- Answering questions from the public
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from a recognized university, have 0-3 years experience, previous field work experience, terrestrial experience, and knowledge of provincial/federal regulations and guidelines affecting the environment and mine development would be considered an asset.
