The Hebron Residential Centre is a residential care facility providing for the care and treatment of youth with emotional and behavioural challenges.  The Centre is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill shifts on an as needed basis in a casual capacity.  Shift coverage is required at all times of the day and night.

Duties:

The Child and Youth Care Worker reports directly to the Supervisor and is responsible for administering approved treatment plans and providing care to male residents, aged 10 - 16.  The Worker is responsible for accurate reporting, crisis intervention, assisting in the development and delivery of programs, treatment plans, groups and activities.  Workers are required to work shift work as this is a continuous twenty-four hour, seven days per week operation. 

Qualifications:

Applicants are required to have completed either a Bachelor’s degree in a helping profession or a diploma in Child and Youth Care Work.  The desired candidate is one who possesses a thorough understanding of the issues and needs of youth in residential care, effective written and verbal communication skills and is able to develop a rapport with the clients while serving as an appropriate role model in a way consistent with the beliefs of the program.  The candidate must be able to function effectively as a member of a team and be able to exercise sound judgement.  A valid driver’s license is required.

Offer of employment is contingent upon the successful candidate passing appropriate background checks and providing proof of qualifications.

Classification Range: Te 13 (1) - Te 18 (5),

Salary Range: $16.83 -$ 23.51 hourly
